Under ‘Project Abhishikt’, around 6,000 students from Delhi government schools in classes six and nine have been selected for psychological testing to identify gifted children. An official announced on Friday that students were chosen based on academic performance and will undergo two rounds of intelligence testing.
The first round, the Culture Fair Intelligence Test (CFIT), is scheduled for September 28. This non-verbal test assesses intellectual ability. Students scoring above 80% will move to the second round, the Intelligence Quotient (IQ) test. Those who pass the IQ test will be transferred to 15 specially designated schools in different districts for advanced learning. In these schools, students will follow an NCERT-based curriculum that includes subjects like English, Hindi, Mathematics, Natural Sciences, Social Studies, and Fine Arts. Additionally, practical learning experiences such as museum visits, field trips, and science experiments will be provided to broaden their perspectives.
Project Abhishikt also aims to develop life skills through interactive activities like visiting local markets and performing tasks such as purchasing vegetables. These experiences are designed to help students ‘open up’ and reach their full potential. Specially trained teachers and an advanced curriculum have been developed to support these gifted students. The initiative seeks to explore and develop the untapped potential of these students, focusing on enhancing communication, life exposure, and skills development.
