BYJU to Organize the Biggest Ever Virtual School Quiz Competition

BYJU’S, the leading edtech company is going to organize a quiz competition that is being reported as the world’s biggest school quiz ever.

DISCOVERY SCHOOL SUPER LEAGUE POWERED BY BYJU’S (DSSL) is organizing an event that will bring over 30,000+ schools one platform. This event will enable over 10 million students to participate in a virtual competition and win prizes.

It is reported that the students are supposed to participate in the quiz using the DSSL app whereupon they will qualify for the Television round. The TV round will have top teams from every state as participants and will be shot remotely.

The earlier two editions of DSSL were mixed i.e. they were both on-ground and digital but in the wake of the pandemic, the edtech giant has leveraged its digital presence to organize a 100 percent virtual challenge.

Commenting on this unprecedented launch, Atit Mehta, VP – Marketing, BYJU’S said that the company has taken measures to ensure that the children get to participate in their favorite event. He stressed that the success of such an event depends on the acceptance of the digital medium in education and India has seen an unprecedented rise in the digital education acceptance rates.

The event has been conceptualized at an unprecedented scale and will reach out to 29 states enabling over 30000 schools to participate. The event will be open for children aged between 8 to 16 years. The participants will be allowed as many as four free preparatory tests and the main school quiz will also be free of cost. Undergoing a stiff competition and comprehensive selection process, the top teams representing different states will enter a 6- episode long TV quiz which will be premiered on the Discovery Channel and Discovery kids next year.

The prize for the winners of the DSSL will be a trip to NASA.
