The Human Resource Development Ministry, in view of the Coronavirus lockdown has directed CBSE, NCERT, NTA and NIOS to come up with alternate calendars. The direction came in as the examinations and academic session schedules are getting changed in the wake of Covid-19 lockdown situation in the country.
The ministry has directed the boards to create new alternate schedules to accommodate the time lapse inevitably happening due to the lockdown. Besides the school examinations, the recruitment exams are also being postponed.
As per the reports, the autonomous bodies of the NCERT have been directed to draft academic calendars.
The offices of the HRD ministry are invariably locked down. According to the HRD Ministry release, offices, autonomous institutions and subordinate offices will not open for three weeks in accordance with the directives of the Home Ministry mandating a 21-day lockdown to contain Covid-19 spread.
The notification issued in connection with the lockdown stated that the bureau heads and division heads would ensure that the salaries and pensions and other financial matters are taken care of amid lockdown.
