CBSE and CISCE Cancel 12th Boards

The Union Government, ending the uncertainty, cancelled the CBSE board exams.

The students were in a state of limbo as the board was undecided about the class 12 exams.

Earlier this year, the boards for class 10 exams were cancelled by CBSE and other boards.

CISCE has also declared the cancellation of class 12 boards and the international boards notably IB has cancelled its boards too, opting for an alternative assessment criteria instead.

Now, it remains to be seen if the states follow suit. Recently MP has cancelled the state board exams for class 12.

Regarding the performance evaluation, it has been hinted that an average of class 10 and 11 marks will be used. The board has been directed to use an objective assessment framework to award the school certification this year.

Most of the states have welcomed the quashing of exams.
