CISCE Notice Regarding Enrolment to NCERT SWAYAM courses for Classes 11, 12


The Ministry of Education of the Government of India had launched a platform on July 9, 2017, named SWAYAM (Study Webs of Active Learning for Young Aspiring Minds), offering Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs). On this platform, the National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) has provided courses in various subject areas for the students of classes 11 and 12. Currently, there are 28 MOOCs in 11 subject areas, being offered from December 20, 2021, to May 31, 2022.

A notice was released by the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE), on January 24, 2022, regarding enrolment to the NCERT SWAYAM courses for their class 11 and 12 students. The last date for enrolment is March 31, 2022. The students can visit the website https://ciet.nic.in/swayam-moocs and enrol in the free online courses offered in the subjects of Accountancy, Business Studies, Biology, Chemistry, Economics, Geography, Mathematics, Physics, Psychology, English, and Sociology.

After accessing the courses, the students can take assessments after each module and receive certificates for the same. CISCE has stated that this measure would support the continuous learning of the students during the current pandemic scenario, in an online mode. Detailed steps have also been provided for ease of enrolment – 

    1. Visit the SWAYAM portal at https://swayam.gov.in/

    2. Click on Sign-In on Homepage and Register using credentials

    3. Once Registered, click on link ‘Continue with SWAYAM’ on the Homepage

    4. Click on ‘Secondary and Sr. Secondary Courses (NCERT)’

    5. A new page will open

    6. Click on the desired Course

    7. The Course Page will open

    8. Click on ‘Enrol the Course on SWAYAM’
