Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan emphasized the importance of mother tongue-based education, stating that it facilitates an all round development from early childhood. As he was speaking at the launch of the 52 Primers initiative, he envisioned this initiative as an inspirational journey for young minds in fostering deeper understanding, lifelong learning, cultural rootedness, as well as success in academics and beyond.
The 52 Primers initiative, developed by the Department of School Education and Literacy (DoSEL) in alignment with the National Education Policy 2020, aims to provide education in indigenous languages, thereby promoting inclusivity and preserving cultural heritage. The minister hailed the initiative as a significant step towards realising the vision of a developed India by 2047. Additionally, he launched the DIETS of Excellence and the National Professional Standard for Teachers, underscoring their role in shaping an inclusive and equitable education system.
Highlighting the significance of initiatives like this, Pradhan shed light on the potential to empower both teachers and learners at the grassroots level, thereby ensuring quality education for all. This concerted effort towards innovation and inclusivity truly marks a pivotal stride towards building a progressive education ecosystem in the country.
