Kochitty highlighted several advantages of bagless days:

- Reducing the gap between theoretical knowledge and its practical application.

- Exposing students to various skills, aiding in future career decisions.

- Enhancing soft skills, aesthetic values, cooperation, teamwork, and creativity.

- Offering mental health benefits by breaking the routine.

- Providing exposure to cultural and historical sites, and local artisans, thus increasing interactive learning.

However, she also noted challenges:

- Weather conditions in North India can limit outdoor activities for most of the year.

- Operational challenges in managing large numbers of students during bagless days.

- The need for thorough planning, additional resources, and proper teacher training.

- Resource constraints, especially in schools with limited infrastructure.

- Potential parental involvement and cost issues for outdoor activities.

To avoid learning loss on bagless days, Kochitty suggested schools should offer multidisciplinary activities that enhance real-world skills and bridge the gap between theoretical and practical knowledge. This approach can lead to better learning outcomes, promoting teamwork and creativity. Kochitty also emphasized the benefits of carrying school bags, including:

- Immediate access to learning materials.

- Development of organizational skills.

- Continuity in learning and homework completion.

- Fostering a sense of responsibility and discipline.

- Encouraging resource sharing and collaborative learning.

- Ensuring safety and security with essential items like ID cards and first-aid supplies.

Overall, while bagless days present both opportunities and challenges, effective planning and resource allocation can maximise their educational benefits.
