‘Shikshak Parv 2021’ was celebrated by the Ministry of Education from 5th to 17thSeptember 2021 to acknowledge the valuable contribution of teachers during the Covid-19 pandemic, and to launch new initiatives under New Education Policy 2020. During this celebration, the education stakeholders including students and teachers were addressed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 7thSeptember, 2021. He said that our teachers consider teaching not just as a profession, but as a moral duty and, hence, the relationship between them and the students is not only professional but familial, too, and this relationship is for life.
During his address, PM Modi gave information about the importance of N-DEAR’s (National Digital Educational Architecture) role in the elimination of inequality in education. He urged the private sectors to come forward and contribute towards bringing changes in the education sector.
On this occasion, the major initiatives in line with the NEP 2020 launched by the Prime Minister are:
Indian Sign Language dictionary for the hearing-impaired: It has 10,000 words and launched by Indian Sign Language Research and Training Centre of DPwD
SQAAF (School Quality Assessment and Accreditation Framework) of CBSE
Audio Books (Talking Books) for the visually impaired
NISTHA Teachers’ Training Program for NIPUN Bharat
Vidyanjali 2.0 Portal for school development
He also congratulated the teachers who received National Awards, commending their efforts and work under difficult circumstances.
