NCERT and Tech Avant-Garde Sign Agreement to Strengthen Digital Transformation Skills in School Education

An agreement has been signed between NCERT (National Council of Educational Research & Training) and Tech Avant-Garde (Microsoft’s Global Training Partner) to join forces in augmenting digital skills of all concerned in school education, in order to promote a Connected Learning Community (CLC).

NCERT, TAG (Tech Avant-Garde), and Microsoft will work together to strengthen Digital Transformation and Holistic Learning (DTHL), in accordance with the Digital India Campaign and NEP (National Education Policy) 2020. Digital India Campaign’s vision is to create basic IT/ICT infrastructure, impart citizen services through digital platforms (apps, portals, etc.), and digital literacy for all.

An NCERT spokesperson said that this partnership will enhance digital transformation and learning, fulfilling the vision of NEP 2020 to integrate digital/ICT education in various areas of education including, but not limited to, teaching, learning, assessment, continuous capacity-building of teachers, educational management, and e-content development.

Mr Ali Sait, CEO of Tech Avant-Garde said that it was a great opportunity to empower teachers, who are the most important stakeholders in the field of education.

Based on the format given by NCERT, Microsoft course content will be provided by TAG under the license CC-by-NC-SA, and a Course Certificate will be jointly provided by NCERT and Microsoft/TAG.

It is a great step towards the aspiration to upskill and empower educators in achieving their full potential with technology. This will bring about new ways of teaching and learning that are required in the changing landscape of Indian education.
