The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has issued a circular to parents regarding the registration of students for classes 9 and 11, as well as the submission of the List of Candidates (LoC) for classes 10 and 12. CBSE emphasised the importance of submitting accurate data, noting that errors in student information or subjects during registration have caused issues after the process is completed and even after exam results are announced.
To avoid complications and ensure smooth examination procedures, CBSE has outlined specific guidelines for parents. They must ensure that student information such as name, date of birth, and parents' names are correctly filled in during registration and LoC submission. Shortened names should be avoided, and expanded forms should be used, particularly when students plan to study abroad. Accurate entry of subjects is also crucial, as changes will not be accepted after the LoC submission.
Parents are advised to cross-check details with their child’s passport (if available) and actively support schools in timely submissions. Deadlines for class 9 and 11 registrations are set for October 16, 2024, with a late fee option until October 24. For class 10 and 12 students, the LoC must be submitted by October 4, 2024, or by October 15 with late fees. The CBSE’s message underscores the vital role parents play in ensuring that data is submitted accurately to prevent future complications.
