Applications Open for Government Scholarships on NSP for 2024-2025

The National Scholarship Portal (NSP) is now accepting applications for a range of scholarships for the academic year 2024-2025, backed by both central and state governments. Students can apply for 23 central government scholarships by visiting scholarships.gov.in.

This scholarship supports economically disadvantaged students in Classes 9 to 12, aiming to reduce secondary school dropout rates. A total of 1,00,000 students with parental incomes below Rs 3.5 lakh can receive Rs 12,000 annually. Selection is based on a Class 8 state-level test comprising a Mental Ability Test (MAT) and Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT). Eligible candidates must attend government or government-aided schools and maintain good conduct.

This scheme assists meritorious students from low-income backgrounds pursuing higher education, with 82,000 new awards annually for undergraduate and postgraduate studies. Scholarships are based on Class 12 results, with 50% reserved for female students. Family income must not exceed Rs 4.5 lakh, and applicants should be enrolled in recognised institutions without similar financial aid.
