ISRO Launches YUVIKA 2024

The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) has unveiled its Young Scientist Programme (YUVIKA) 2024, scheduled to take place from May 13 to May 24, aimed at standard 9 students. This two-week residential initiative seeks to equip participants with fundamental knowledge of space technology, science, and applications. Registration for the programme commenced on February 20 and will conclude on March 20, 2024. Selection criteria include performance in Class 8 exams, an online quiz, participation in science fairs, ranking in Olympiads or equivalent competitions, sports achievements, and engagement in extracurricular activities such as Scout and Guides, NCC, or NSS.

Also, there are preferences for students studying in Village/Rural schools located in the Panchayat Area. Prospective participants must follow a simple registration process on the ISRO Antariksha Jigyasa Platform, including email verification, participation in SpaceQuiz, submission of personal details, and uploading of relevant certificates. Along with the personal details, the candidates are required to upload a photocopy of their attested certificates and certificates for verification on the website.

The programme is designed to encourage students to pursue careers in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) by exposing them to space-related concepts and applications. ISRO aims to inspire young minds to explore these fields through hands-on learning experiences. By providing a platform for immersive learning and exploration, ISRO hopes to cultivate a passion for STEM education among students, thereby contributing to the development of future scientists, engineers, and innovators. For more information and registration, individuals are directed to visit the official website.
