Pre-Primary Schools to Register with Education Department

Minister of State for Education, Pankaj Bhoyar, announced that starting from the 2025-26 academic year, it will be mandatory for all pre-primary schools in the state to register with the school education department. This decision comes as a response to the increasing number of pre-primary schools and concerns over arbitrary fee structures. Bhoyar also clarified that since no official government or education department approval is required to start a pre-primary school, local education officers ought to have complete information about these institutions.

To address this, the government is working on a law to regulate the fees charged by pre-primary schools. Once enacted, registration with the school education department will become compulsory for all such institutions. He also encouraged stakeholders to share their insights and suggestions regarding the implementation of central and state government educational initiatives. “Good suggestions will certainly be considered,” he assured, putting emphasis on the government's accountability to improving the education system through collective efforts.

The new regulation aims to bring transparency, prevent arbitrary fee hikes, and ensure better oversight of pre-primary education. The state government is determined to implement these changes effectively from the next academic year.
