Rajasthan’s Jodhpur district is facing a transformative integration of technology and education through a latest AI-based pilot project in government schools. The first step involves report card preparation and traditional examinations by substituting manual grading with an automated system that assesses answer papers in seconds. Teachers can spend less time on administrative activities and concentrate more on classroom engagement and student learning at present.

Lakhs of Test Sheets Examined in Seconds
The 2nd phase of the School Reporting Pilot Project and Competency-Based Census Assessment has reached a major milestone in the Jodhpur district. Officials supported that the project involved over 70,000 students from Grades 6 to 9 throughout 1,000 government schools, resulting in more than 3 lakh assessments.
The initiative treats English and Hindi-medium schools and involves 5 core subjects such as English, Hindi, Mathematics, Social Science and Science. Teachers can now evaluate handwritten answer sheets and get full competency-based assessments within seconds, using a specialised AI-powered application. The technology has cut down the overall verification procedure from many weeks to just 3 days, empowering schools to create analytical reports instantly for principals, students, and parents.
From Traditional Report Cards to Skill Cards
One of the most important characteristics of the system is its conversion from traditional marks-based report cards to competency-driven analysis. The latest report cards identify particular areas and strengths for advancement rather than assigning an overall score. For instance, a student’s report card may spotlight firm execution in statistics while pointing out the requirement to enhance language skills. This subject-particular analysis provides parents and teachers with a proper understanding of each student’s academic growth and builds a more individualised roadmap for academic development.
Reaching 1,000 Schools for Expansion
Rajni Shekhawat, the Chief District Education Officer, valued that the rapid elaboration of the initiative is currently functioning in 1,000+ schools throughout all 15 blocks of Jodhpur district. The programme was established as a pilot project in 2025 and covered 3,000 students in 54 English-medium government schools. Teachers evaluate answer sheets through a committed mobile application under the streamlined model, letting the AI platform instantly assess results and create data-driven academic reports. The initiative presents how AI and technology can improve efficiency, support personalised learning results in schools and reshape examination models.
