Department of Social Welfare, Government of Jammu & Kashmir is running approximately 40 homes in the state for the care, treatment, protection, development and rehabilitation of children and youth who have been marginalized and displaced by rapid socioeconomic changes. Around 3000 children are enrolled in these homes.
Government of Jammu & Kashmir observed these homes are not resulting the desired development of children and wishes to address the matter by evolving an inclusive education methodology, measuring outcomes basis the development/care plan set for each child, achieve the desired children development objectives, social and economic growth.
